Our Letter to Local Governments
As the first step in reaching out to local governments, we have drafted a letter that outlines what we are asking of them.
Our aim is to present goals that are ambitious enough to make the necessary changes based on both climate science and the needs of our community, while also being achievable if we all work together.
We want this letter to be reflective of the views of our member communities. We therefore invite our member communities to collaborate with us on the final version of this letter to present to local governments. We particularly welcome the advice of anyone with expert knowledge or policy experience in any of the areas discussed in the letter (carbon reduction targets, affordable housing, transportation, climate action tools such as green recovery bonds, etc.).
We invite interested faith communities to get in touch with us to see the current draft version of the letter and provide feedback.
